Kate The Great! (My Baby Sister)

With all the thoughts about being thankful, I realized that I never really appreciated my baby sister, well... really she is just my baby. :) I have thanked God multiple times for her, but had never really understood the fullness of her, having her I mean. She can be a real pain sometimes, but what sibling do you know that is not a pain... She is the light of my life and without her I don't know what I would do.

Now being "older," almost sixteen, I can understand what a blessing it is to have children. My Mom hardly ever would see Kate throughout the day because my sister's and I would ALWAYS have her. When she was just a INFANT we would lay pillows and blankets down in our wagon, lay her down and haul her tiny petunia around EVERYWHERE, and let me tell you she loved it. Just looking up towards the sky and smiling. She knew, I am convinced she knew, that she was apart of something fun.

She was always curious, and never wanted to be layed down, she always had to be sitting up, ALWAYS. Or, she would just start crying. I still can't believe how much Mom let us do with her. I guess she had to pretty much let her go. She was down by the lake with us, playing with our neighbour's dog's with us, pretty much doing everything and STILL being an infant. She caught on very quickly and was one of the "pack" as we say, very fast.

Now my little girl is all grown up. She has been talking up a STORM lately. Recently, put down for her nap, we hear someone yelling for help.

HHEEELLLLPPPP MEEEE III WAAANNNTT TOO GETT UPPP!!! LAAAUUREENN, RRRAAACHHH HELLLLOOOOOOOO????

We decide to get her because obviously she is not going to fall asleep, so as I walk in the room to get her up she says, "Oh, hi Sloan, I not TOO sleepy
I'm too big, sorry Sloan." :)
So there it is, my sweet baby girl and how much I love her. I cannot wait to have my own children, if I love Kate this much, I cannot even imagine how much I could love my own.
Some of my favorite sayings of Kate's.
1. This morning Dad hears Kate calling from her bed, "Can someone get the baby up please?"
2. While I'm beading, "Wow, Sloanie you do GOoOoOd beading, can I help?"
3. When she goes down for bed, "No bed, I'm watchin' a movie, fiivvee mooorrree minnuttteess.
The List could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.
Love ya' Kate the Great
