80 Degrees Christmas Day?!?!

Yes.... unfortunately it is true. It was over 80 degrees down here in Florida. We were sitting outside with our family Christmas day, and everyone was so hot!

I was looking forward to a nice and cool Christmas, Well... God had other plans so you can't do anything about that now can ya'?
I am so wanting to move up north, and so is the family. It would be hard to leave friends and family, but there is just something about the country, and farm life that I have always been drawn to. Who knows what the future has in store for us?!

Stay in the Castle......

This may seem overwhelming to read right now, but it will change you, this booklet was given to me by my Mom a couple years ago, and the first time I read it I can remember crying my eyes out. It feels so right. READ THIS! IT IS AMAZING!!!!



Once upon a time, there was a princess that lived in a beautiful palace overlooking a simple but worldly village. She lived in the castle with her Father, the King, and a handful of faithful servants. Her Father doted over her, supplying her every need and most all of her wants. Over the years, she blossomed into a beautiful teenage girl, quick-witted, full of laughter, and always obedient - but increasingly lonely Ofter, late at night, she would gaze from the window of her room, high in the castle wall, watching the people far away in the streets below.

She would lean towards the gaiety, straining, past the sounds of music and laughter to try and pick out the words of the young people. No sad, lonely sounds ever reached her ears, and she began to believe that they must be the happiest people in the kingdom.“Father?” she asked one evening as they worked together on what he called her preparation. “Do you think that perhaps I might one evening be allowed to attend one of the festivals at the village? Perhaps just for a short time?”The old, wise King laid aside the Book of Lessons and looked upon his daughter with compassion, and concern. “My child , the village below is a worldly place full of sad people. The sound of merriment that you sometimes hear is their attempt to drown out the emptiness and despair of their lives. It is best that you stay in the castle.

”Though she loved her Father, it was not the answer she wished.“but Father, how will I ever meet… I mean… someday I would like to… Oh Father, you are so good to me, and I do so love it here, but at times I get so lonely!”The King sat back in his chair, his eyes suddenly seeing his daughter not as the little girl she would always be to him, but as the young lady she was becoming. He then decided.“It is time to tell you.”“Tell me what, Father?”Standing to his feet, he walked to a window overlooking the countryside to the East. His eyes fastened onto the King’s Highway, a straight road that passed high above the village and led to the castle gate.“Shortly after you were born, I foresaw The Day when you would need someone special–someone with whom to spend your life. I set out to search; to visit other castles in the Kingdom; to find a prince for you. Not just anyone, but that special someone.”The King turned to look at his Princess, her eyes full of wonderment.“I have met him. I know who he is.

”“Oh, Father, where does he live? When do I get to meet him?”“He lives far away, but not so far. In a castle not unlike this one. He, too, is being prepared as you are–both for the other. Come stand beside me, my child.”She walked to where her Father stood by the window.“See there? That’s the King’s highway. When the time is right, and not before, he will come on a white steed. You will know him.”Then taking her hands into his, he looked into her tear brimmed eyes.“Princess. Never forget you are a child of the King. You are Royalty. The one being prepared for you is also of Royal Descent. Be patient. Prepare. And stay in the castle.”She hugged the King, jumping into his arms, happy now and determined to prepare and wait. For many months, at night, she looked out her bedroom window, past the village and its sounds to the Highway above, watching and dreaming of the one who would some day come.

A year passed. Then another. The dream became harder to envision, and the night sounds of laughter and glee from the village below again began working their way slowly into her thoughts. It became harder to concentrate on her preparation; harder to be patient.One morning while taking her breakfast in the Royal Kitchen, a knock was heard at the back door; the door where deliveries were made from the village below. She waited for one of her Father’s servants to answer, but when none immediately did, she decided to answer it herself.“Hello,” said the young delivery man as he pulled off his crumbled hat and bowed. (It was an exaggerated bow, very low and lasting, followed by a winsome smile.) She couldn't’t help but laugh.“Delivery for his Royal Highness, the King,” he proclaimed with just the slightest shade of irreverence. “And my, but I must say that he has hired some lovely kitchen help, a great improvement indeed!”“Why, thank you, but I’m not the kitchen help,” she replied blushing, “I’m the King’s daughter.”

“I had heard he had a daughter. But I was never told how beautiful she was! Do you live here all alone with you Father?”“For now,” she replied, thinking briefly of the now fading story her Father had told her.He carried the supplies past her into the kitchen. “You ought to come down to the village some night. The lads would be taken with you! Lots of friends your age and wonderful parties.”“Tell me about the village.”For an hour they talked, and talked, and laughed. Every story of the village life seemed so full of humor and excitement! He acted out the stories he told and sang a village favorite, dancing merrily to the tune. She could not remember ever laughing so much, and found herself resenting her Father for not allowing her to take part.“You must come to the village this very night. The Fall Festival begins, and it is the best of the year.”She glanced awkwardly at the closed kitchen door.

“I don’t believe my Father would allow me to attend.”“Then sneak out after dark. I will meet you at the bridge this side of the village. You’ll have a great time!”“Perhaps.” She hesitated. “But I can’t promise.”“I’ll meet you there,” he said, then shut the door and was gone before she could answer.That evening, she sat with her Father in the Great Room, he reading aloud from the Book of Lessons, and she pretending to be listening. In reality, she was measuring the diminishing light from the setting sun. The distant music began to loft up from the festival below, her imagination going skyward with it. It took several moments before she realized that her Father had stopped reading.“You seem far away tonight.”She straightened her dress nervously, “No, just tired I think. Perhaps I should go to bed early.”“Darling…”“Really, Father, I’m fine,” she said, quickly getting to her feet. “Good night,” she said back over her shoulder as she scampered up the stairs.Two hours later, when it was believed that all in the castle were sleeping, a lithe, young figure stole out the kitchen door and disappeared into the night.

Three months later, a slightly older, but much changed Princess marched into the Great Room to announce to her Father the decision she had made on the previous night. Her midnight visits had increased in frequency since that first visit a life time ago. The village night life was more exciting than she had ever dared imagine. The people, though sometimes cruel, laughed and sang and danced and chased each night into dawn. They were living! Living now! Not just waiting for a dream that might never come true.The young man that had met her the first night had treated her, well, like royalty! In a hundred ways her made her feel special. Then last night, the greatest of all nights of her life, he had proposed to her.

She clutched the ring he had slipped onto her finger tightly in her palm, drawing courage from the pain it produced.“Father, I have something to tell you.”He sat in his chair, the Book of Lessons on his lap, its pages freshly stained with his tears. She almost lost her resolve.“I’ve met a young man. I know I shouldn't’t have gone without your permission but… anyway, we are going to be married–right away!”The King shut the Book and stared out towards the Highway. “I watched you go each night, wishing you back.” Then turning His eyes to her and through her. “This castle has never been a prison. This castle is a decision. I want you to know that if you leave here, things will never be the same again. My love for you will never change, but everything– EVERYTHING– else will.”She wavered for a moment, but only a moment, her head filled now with the village ideas.“I know that this is what is right for me.

He may not be Royalty, but I love him.” And with that, she left the castle.She woke with the dawn, not knowing that it was a year to the day since her departure. Her back hurt. “Just part of being in your last month of pregnancy,” the village women had told her. Rising with difficulty, her husband muttered something in his half drunken state. He had come home only hours before and they had argued–again. Oh, well, after the baby was born maybe things would get better.There was still a house to clean and chores to do. Picking up a worn, straw broom, she walked outside to sweep the front porch. Their house was small. It sat at the edge of town, not far from the bridge where he had waited for her that first night. Her eyes followed the path up to her Father’s Castle. The King had still found little ways to show her that he had not forgotten her; that she had still loved. But what he had said was now true.

Nothing was the same.Her eyes wandered to the East to spend a few minutes watching the sun rise, a simple pleasure that she shared alone each morning. Its rays almost blinded her, distorting the trees and hills beyond. Squinting against its brightness, she returned to the job at hand, first glancing absently up the High Road.Her heart seemed to stop, gripped as if by a strong hand. The broom quivered in her grasp. Far down the road came a white horse, its rider sitting straight and tall. He seemed to be coming straight out of the sun. The horse quickened its pace as it neared the castle, sensing the excitement of its master.

Her heart began to beat again, now loud and in rhythm to the pounding hoofs. He reigned his mount to a stop outside the castle’s front gate. She could not make out his features, but his stance spoke of honor and character. He knocked on the front door, her front door not that long ago. The King stepped out to greet him, and she watched as they conversed; watched as the King spoke with his hands, and then pointed toward the village. Involuntarily, she took a step back into the shadow of the porch.The noble Prince listened carefully, his strong shoulders sagging in disappointment and sadness. Shaking the King’s hand, and receiving from him a consoling hug, he mounted his horse. He looked toward her village home, his eyes finding hers in the shadows. For a moment they both stared. Then, pointing his mount back toward the sun, he rode away into its brightness.She felt the hot tears on her arms and hands long before it occurred to her that she was crying. “Nothing,” she thought, “Will ever be the same.”

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Well, Merry early Christmas I should say.

We are very excited about Christmas this year, our Grandma, Grandpa, and a good friend of the family is coming up Christmas day to spend time with us, and they are leaving Christmas day as well. The girls and I are beyond excited about that! They have never done that since they usually do their own thing, and also live 2 1/2 hours away from us. We are so blessed to have such a loving and wonderful family!

What a great time to be EXTRA grateful to the Lord, for the things we are richly blessed with!!!

Also, gift giving is such a fun and wonderful experience too, it is so much fun to see the expressions on the ones you love, when you give them a gift from you.

There are so many wonderful things to do this Christmas,

A great find!

I went to Target with my Mom and Gram today and found a great deal! I am always on the look-out for APPROPRIATE tennis clothes. I do NOT where spaghetti straps and escpecially for a girl my size I couldn't get away with it even if I wanted to.

ANYWAY, found some thick strap sport shirts, Champion brand which is a GREAT sports clothes line, and I found tops for $3 dollars on CLEARANCE!!!!! I was so happy.

I needed some new sports clothes DESPERATELY!!! It is really hard to find appropriate clothes when all girls clothes now-a-days are so inappropriate!

So I am happppppppyyyy!


I am EXHAUSTED, and need to go rest!

Kate The Great! (My Baby Sister)

With all the thoughts about being thankful, I realized that I never really appreciated my baby sister, well... really she is just my baby. :) I have thanked God multiple times for her, but had never really understood the fullness of her, having her I mean. She can be a real pain sometimes, but what sibling do you know that is not a pain... She is the light of my life and without her I don't know what I would do.






Now being "older," almost sixteen, I can understand what a blessing it is to have children. My Mom hardly ever would see Kate throughout the day because my sister's and I would ALWAYS have her. When she was just a INFANT we would lay pillows and blankets down in our wagon, lay her down and haul her tiny petunia around EVERYWHERE, and let me tell you she loved it. Just looking up towards the sky and smiling. She knew, I am convinced she knew, that she was apart of something fun.








She was always curious, and never wanted to be layed down, she always had to be sitting up, ALWAYS. Or, she would just start crying. I still can't believe how much Mom let us do with her. I guess she had to pretty much let her go. She was down by the lake with us, playing with our neighbour's dog's with us, pretty much doing everything and STILL being an infant. She caught on very quickly and was one of the "pack" as we say, very fast.









Now my little girl is all grown up. She has been talking up a STORM lately. Recently, put down for her nap, we hear someone yelling for help.


HHEEELLLLPPPP MEEEE III WAAANNNTT TOO GETT UPPP!!! LAAAUUREENN, RRRAAACHHH HELLLLOOOOOOOO????

We decide to get her because obviously she is not going to fall asleep, so as I walk in the room to get her up she says, "Oh, hi Sloan, I not TOO sleepy
I'm too big, sorry Sloan." :)
So there it is, my sweet baby girl and how much I love her. I cannot wait to have my own children, if I love Kate this much, I cannot even imagine how much I could love my own.
Some of my favorite sayings of Kate's.
1. This morning Dad hears Kate calling from her bed, "Can someone get the baby up please?"
2. While I'm beading, "Wow, Sloanie you do GOoOoOd beading, can I help?"
3. When she goes down for bed, "No bed, I'm watchin' a movie, fiivvee mooorrree minnuttteess.

Well, if you can tell, I am very excited about these "Simple Flower Rings", you are CORRECT! I took me about well 2 whole days to figure out how to do this tricky pattern, but I did it and THAT my friends is what counts. Swarovski crystals, and illusion string (like fishing line) DO NOT WORK WELL TOGETHER.) What I mean is, you need lots and lots and even more lotsa' patience for this little project. **WHEW**

Lions, and tigers, and NO BLOGGING, OH MY!

Well I officially have not blogged for months! But I am getting back into the routine of it!

This beautiful November month has been amazing.

The beautiful weather, I love this time of year, it is just getting chilly enough where you need warm clothes.

Everyone is running around outside having a ball! It is so wonderful to play tennis in this weather, especially because you don't faint, from tennis courts that are 112 degrees. So that is nice. :) :) :)

We just went to the annual craft fair and it was WONDERFUL! There were so many booths we didn't even get half way through. We had Wilton cake decorating so we could not stay for that long.

We have so many wonderful things to be looking forward to and so many thingfs to be thankful for.

The Rennaisance fair is coming up and we recieved passes for the whole weekend which was nice. We are going with some friends which should be a blast! We all dress up in clothes from the rennisance times, which for girls you KNOW has got to be FUN! I will be SURE to post pictures of the dresses!

Grandparents are coming down from California so we will be visiting with them for a while, we are going to go to a 10 acre corn field that has corn over 6 feet high! They make a path through all of those acres of corn and you start at the beggining and PRAY that you make it out. (There are no bathrooms in the maze) :) :) :)
If you get lost you have a flag you raise and the "Maze Master" comes and RESCUES YOU! Haha!

You get a prize if you finish the trivia in the maze and if you finish the maze, which we have never succesfully done. :)

Hopefully this year we will have better luck!

Girls and Boys.....

Well, here I go bringing up a HUGE subject that is talked about on young Christian girls blogs quite a bit.


CAN'T GIRLS AND BOYS JUST BE FRIENDS?

My personal answer is yes they can be, but within reason of course! If you are not trained yet on how to behave properly around young men, THEN I think that it is dangerous to be friends with them. Flirtation happens, and affections start getting mixed up. Or, you meet with a young man and talk and act properly, HE still could not be trained and have an attraction towards you!

I think to be friends at a farther distance is better than a closer distance. I mean, What do you do when you are around a group of young people? You go to the girls group not the boys! Not that it is bad to, it's just that at a younger age, it is safer to not hurt anyone on either end if affections DO get mixed up.

BUT WHAT ABOUT HAVING A BOYFRIEND?

These posts are what I personally think, and I do not judge anyone at all if they do something completely opposite of what I do. I am just sharing my thoughts on it, I thought you all might enjoy!

Wellll..... the boyfriend and girlfriend subject.

I will make it as simple and short as I can.

I cannot tell you how many times I have heard how young girls hearts were broken or young men's were.

Well to me it is like this, you start out with a whole complete heart, and when a boyfriend comes around a little piece of that heart is broken off and given to him. Then something happens and you break up and that little piece of heart is still missing. Then maybe another boyfriend comes around and a bigger piece is broken off and given to him and you break up and that little piece is missing as well.

Well, when you get married do you have a complete heart to give to your husband? Or, do you have a broken apart heart to offer?

WELL THEN HOW DO I FIND MR. RIGHT? DON'T I NEED TO TRY AROUND?


God has a SPECIFIC plan for your life, and if you trust Him always and give your life to him, then you have absolutely, without a doubt, NOTHING to worry about. A HUGE turning point in my life was when I read Before You Meet Prince Charming by Sarah Malley.

I went through a phase about a year ago when I though and actually said, I am going to marry a man who is blank, blank, blank. Just like all young girls do really. I thought, I am going to marry a man who has money and can provide for me and etc, etc, etc.

Well I read the book and that changed my thoughts DRAMATICALLY!!!!

Why worry about something that is already taken care of right??!!!

I mean, I know it is hard right now not to think about it and dream about it, I am not saying that you shouldn't, but I AM saying that God already has a plan for you, and don't we want to follow His way and not our own?

Poor Little Blog....

Here I go again saying that I have not posted in FOR EVER.

Well at least I am posting now right?!

1. We had left over scrambled eggs this morning so we gave them to our cats. Bootsie has not left the spot he is in right now all day, BECAUSE HE STUFFED HIMSELF!

2. My Mom's birthday is coming up September 26th and I am very excited for her!

3. A couple days ago Kate my baby sister got VERY jealous because I was holding and playing with another baby. She didn't understand because she usually gets all of my attention, and she IS only two! I put the other baby down and she came running crying into my arms and cried on my for a bit but then I got her happy and she was fine!

4. I have been a beading maniac and will list some of my newest pieces as soon as I can!

Fun Facts!

Well, I KNOW I have not posted in FOR EVER which is bad. I think about my poor blog every day but am too busy to keep up. So, I thought it would be fun to post some fun facts maybe not FUN maybe slightly FRIGHTENING facts about the food we eat today.

I HAD NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD A TWINKIE UNTIL MY UNCLE CAME DOWN FROM TENNESSEE AND BROUGHT A BOX WITH HIM. YOU HAVE NEVER MET A JUNK FOOD JUNKIE UNTIL YOU HAVE MET MY UNCLE. MY MOM NEVER EVER IN A KAJILLION YEARS WOULD LET US HAVE A TWINKIE BUT MY UNCLE BEGGED AND FINALLY MY MOM ALLOWED. SO I WAS READING THE BOOK " EAT THIS NOT THIS" BY DAVID ZINCZENKO, AND HERE IS THE FACT ABOUT TWINKIES I READ.


Did you know, that Twinkies are packed with massive doses of something called polysorbate 60, a petroleum product used to construct plastic bottles?

I think personally, eating a plastic bottle might be better for you. :P


Did you know, that McDonald's is the world's largest purchaser of beef, potatoes and apples?

Also, McDonald's opens a new restaurant every four hours!



Personally I am built athletically so I need to stay fit all the time and eat healthy all of the time. It is really hard for me because sometimes I want to sneak in those extra little treats, but when I do I gain so FAST. Thankfully I play tennis which is a VERY athletic sport and makes you run so it keeps you in good shape!

Did you know, that tennis is the ONLY sport that gets your heart rate up faster than any other?

Actually, one page of music is missing from this song, which I have not practiced. I just got this down so I am a little rusty! My Grandma gave me a music book with all the music from the Roger's and Hammerstein's collection. Music from, "Oklahoma", "The King and I", "Carousel, and others I can't think of right now. Cat-astrophe!!!

Misty and Dotz, our two new kittens as you know. If you don't know, go to my older posts and look at the sweet pictures I have of them. Anyway, my Dad and I were going to the store yesterday, he had a air conditioner temperature tool in the car and when we got in it was 120 degrees! The car was SO hot! We got talking about how dangerous it was. Anyway, my Dad was in his truck cleaning it out and can you guess? Misty our grey little kitten hopped in the truck without anybody knowing. She was in there for a couple hours. It takes 2 to 4 hours for a small child to die in a hot car. We were surprised that she did not. My Dad opened up his truck, heard a weak Mew, and found her under the seat. So Dad brought her in and she was completely drenched in sweat panting and she looked half dead. All of us girls almost had a conniption. :) She drank A LOT of water, and she gave some pitiful little mews. It was almost the saddest thing I have ever seen. I am happy to report that she is doing better but she is not her normal self. Dotz (her brother) was so happy that she was back when we put her outside. They are buddies and almost NEVER leave each other's side. He started licking her and giving her love, it was so sweet. Poor kitty!

So... My sister Kate (who is turning 2 tomorrow) loves the movie Moe and the Big Exit, which is a Veggie Tales movie. Now we don't watch too many movies, but Kate loves this one so much Mom lets her watch it. This movie is about Moses and Pharaoh. Get it, Moses (Moe) Okay, sorry. Jewlrey Time!

Okay, so I decide to FINALLY post pictures of my Swarovski crystal bracelets, and can you guess what happened? I DELETED ALL THE PICTURES! Arrrgghh! *Sigh*, Okay, I'm better. Are battery to our camera is dead, and we left the charger in our old home town. *Deep Breath*, better. So, you will not be seeing ANY pictures! But I will say I might be having a bracelet and earrings class this summer for some ladies and kids so that will be fun! The best Dad in the WHOLE world (my Dad of course) took me to the bead shop today and bought be earrings supplies and an EXPENSIVE tool. He is so thoughtful, and is ALWAYS thinking of us girls. Kids!

We were at a friends house a few weeks ago having dinner, and there 2nd littlest and I decided to take a walk down by their BEAUTIFUL lake. They have a great big long dock, we walked slowly down and under a canopy that they had also made. It is quite beautiful. This little boy is so smart and clever for his age of four years. As we were walking he stops and says to me, "May I please go swimming in the lake?" I say very sweetly that I think it would be best to ask his parents. He stops walking and looks straight into my eyes and asks, " Are you a parent yet?" I laugh heartily and swoop down and give him a squeeze. I answer him no, not yet!

Poor Little Blog

I have been so busy lately that my Blog has been neglected once again. *Sigh* Sisters, Family, Piano, School, Pets, Tennis, shall I go on? Well this summer I wanted to do a little "Craft Camp" for a few girls in our homeschooler's group. I don't know if I will get to that this summer! I have been so busy I haven't even had time to think about it! I got quite a bit of it planned out on paper but still, too too busy. ;) My Swarovski crystal bracelet making has been a wonderful thing for me. I think I have found my new hobby! :) Today I made a sample Swarovski earring just to see how it would turn out. It turned out beautifully! So this summer I think I will be trying to make some earrings! I have never made earrings before so I am excited about making them! All of us women in the family have never been into jewelery that much. Our Mom trained us that natural beauty is the best kind of beauty you can ever have, but she doesn't mind us wearing a little bit. maybe earrings or a bracelet. I don't think it is BAD to wear jewelery as long as you wear just a little bit so it doesn't take away from your countenance showing. I love making Salvation bracelets the best. Each color has a special meaning. I am out of town right now but when I get back home I will post some pictures and share the meanings.

COYOTE IN YOUR CLOSET?

Well, it is official. We have a coyote prowling around our 2 and a half acres of land. Our neighbour who has 8 cats and 3 dogs, recently lost, I think 2 or 3 cats. :o( She is a animal lover if there ever was one. She talked to my Dad the other day and said she might have seen a coyote around her house. Well today it is official. She called up my Mom today and said she is looking at the coyote! YIKES!!! He saw her and ran away and then came back a couple minutes later and stood there for 5 full minutes. She called up our other neighbours and told them and they told her, that both of THEIR cats had gone missing as well. :o( That coyote is sure getting a good meal. So while he was out today, he was looking for a cat to munch on. We have 2 cats and 2 kittens of our own so we are VERY scared that they might get eaten as well. The neighbour is going to try and get a trap tomorrow! How fun that will be to see. She not too long ago thought the alligator in out lake was eating her cats, but it turned out the COYOTE WAS!!!!

Books!

I am currently reading An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott. I hope I spelled that right! IT is a FABULOUS book. Thanks Anna Naomi! Call me a weirdo, but I cannot read more than 1 book at a time. I get to interested in the 1rst one I am reading and then I can't keep up with the 2nd one! I don't know what it is but I just can't. I am a great reader and can read pretty fast too so I finish my books pretty quickly. I went to public school up until the 3rd grade. In kindergarten I was reading at 3rd grade level. Reading is probably one of my most FAVORITE things to do! I have so many good books to read, I will keep posting them so you can see what I am reading!

Grandma Time!

Gram came up for a visit a few days ago and let me tell you what, IT HAS BEEN A BLAST! She is such a funny person and so energetic. She has been helping my Mom out with the new magazine that my parents recently purchased so it has been a busy couple of days. First, my Gram went out and took my Mom's car. She went to a plaza and when she was finished she came back to the car and tried to start it but she couldn't get the keys to work!!! She tried and tried but it wouldn't budge. She thought of using a pay phone but she remembered that she had given ALL of her change to my little sister for her jar. So can you guess what she did? She WALKED ALL THE WAY HOME!!! It isn't that far but it is a pretty long walk. :P She came in the front door and I just stared at her because she looked like someone had just run over her with a truck, and she was SO red I thought she might pass out. I said, WHAT HAPPENED???!!!! She pointed out the window and I saw that there was NO car in the driveway! WHOOPSIE! Poor Gram. I will tell you she is fine and recovered. Another funny story, She slept in my sister's room which is downstairs and my sister's dwarf hamster lives in her room. My Grandma HATES rodents of any kind. Even if it is a cute tiny little dwarf hamster. She can barely even look at them. So we decided for her sake to move the hamster out of the room so she wouldn't be too uncomfortable.
We forgot to put the hamster out of Kate's reach so I bet you can guess what happened next. Kate got the hamster cage door open and brought the little present right to Gram to show her what she got! She plopped him down right on Gram's lap and Gram SCREAMED!!! Her arms in the air and then she froze with eyes as big as..... Oreo cookies. Rachel quickly scooped "Gus" up and put him back in the cage out of Kate's reach. I walked quickly out of the room so I wouldn't show my smile. I couldn't help it at all. It was the funniest sight I think I have ever seen. Poor Gram. She has recovered from that incident as well.

And no, we do not try to kill her every time she comes for a visit. :o)

Partner's In Crime....

Our kittens are such a blessing to us girls. Myself and my sisters are CRAZY ANIMAL LOVERS, so we are so thankful for our kittens. They are growing so fast and are getting into more and more and more and more and more AND MORE trouble. I will list a couple things....

1. Pulled down my blow dryer from the cord and just about broke it into a million pieces.
2. They fight over their food, which ends up EVERYWHERE.
3. They climb up the furniture.
4. Climb up the dining room chairs.
5. Get stuck behind the couch.
6. Fall behind the beds.
7. Fight over their water bowl and try to fit BOTH paws into it at the same time. Resulting in it tipping over.


Those were just a few I could go on FOR EVER and EVER!

I guess God had to make them cute so that parents wouldn't get rid of them! :o)

Learner's License!

Well....


I GOT MY LEARNER'S LICENSE! YAY!!!!

I am so excited and a little bit nervous at the same time.

I drove a little bit on the way home from the DMV. Just on the roads with little traffic.

My dad took me driving yesterday on all the "Big" roads. I was a little nervous. But I did GREAT!

I also drove to Office Depot today and had little trouble. Besides almost hitting a car when I was parking, everything else went great!!! :o)

No I really didn't that was a joke. I just came a little too close to the car. :)

I have been watching my parents drive for 15 years and it is REALLY weird to be driving myself. I am a very cautious driver and my parents are VERY supportive.

My Mom is definitly the one who is a little more freaked out about me driving. Haha!

My Dad is the, "Oh, she will be alright"one. And my Mom is the, "How can my baby be driving already"one. :o)

I am so excited!

Tea Party Anyone?


Me, Lauren, and Rach having a VERY special tea party. Rachel (black scarf) is the one who puts these marvelous tea parties together. And let me tell you what, she makes wonderful tea. Yes I am 15 years old but who says I can't go to a tea party??? Tea parties are so elegant and feminine especially when you are at Rachel's tea party. You bet we dress up too! Who goes to a tea party without dresses and scarfs? I love spending time with my sisters this way, it is so much fun. One time we were having a tea party and we hear the door swing open hit the wall and in comes little kate running full speed, crashes into the "tea" table, knocks over the sugar dish, and spills a full cup of tea right on to poor Lauren. Rachel and I were laughing so hard we almost fell off our stools. Kate, or should I say godzilla baby sure knows how to crash a tea party!

Weird..... I know


I had a GOOD reason for doing this. Well I was making tuna sandwiches for the family. I started to chop yellow onions and that was it. MY EYES FELT LIKE THEY WERE ON FIRE! :o) There was a plastic bag in front of me and my Dad's sunglasses in front of me so I thought WHY NOT? My Mom takes one look and grabs the camera laughing the whole time. Sure I was being a GOOF but guess what, it WORKED!!!
If you do not have plastic baggies or sunglasses on hand put your onions in the freezer for 15 minutes. That works too. ;)

Oh my!


As I was playing "The Surrey with the Fringe On Top" from the musical "Oklahoma" on the piano, I suddenly hear a scribbling sound that is coming from what sounds like a pen. Holding my breath I look over and sure enough there is Kate with a blue marker coloring on the door and wall. I said CATHERINE No!! And she took off like a jack rabbit. Kate is a VERY well behaved baby and this was her very FIRST time coloring on the wall so I thought I would blog it.

Today I had tennis and it was PAINFUL!!! I threw my neck out yesterday and it hurts sooo bad!
My mom said to me you better not play tennis your neck is going to get a LOT worse than it is already. But I just had to go and play tennis. I have a question... HOW COME MOM'S ARE ALWAYS RIGHT???!!!! I guess because they are Mom's. :o)

You can do all things through Christ who Strengthens you!

Well, about a week ago I was in one of my group tennis classes, and we all had partners we were playing against. I was playing very well at first but then things started to go DOWN HILL! My opponent was CrUsHiNg me. I started to completely give up. That is one of my biggest problems with tennis. After my opponent is ahead of me I start to give up. That is probably one of the worst problems to have if you are a tennis player. Your opponent is most likely going to be ahead of you a few times during the game. Well anyway it was getting to the point where I was ACTUALLY missing the ball with my racquet. Yep, it was bad trust me. Anyway I am running around to the other side of the court when my coach stops me and says, "Sloan what are you doing??!!" I said I CAN'T HIT IT!!!! He said "Yes you can, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!" I immediatley was powered up and ready to let my racquet do the talking. :o) I came back and was awesome. The point of my story is sometimes I give up too easily, not just with tennis. Every time I feel like I'm about to give up I think about what my coach said to me that day. Don't give up people! YOU CAN DO ALL THE THROUGH CHRIST WHO STERNGTHENS YOU!!!

Little L

Last night Lauren slept in my bed with me. We were both just laying there until I hear her say, "Do you want to know the 3 words I dislike the most?" I said sure. She said, "You are too little, you already had something to eat, and no piano right now." I couldn't help but BURST OUT LAUGHING! If there is one person in our family who can make you laugh the hardest, that would be Lauren. She then asked me what mine were and I said, " The word no, no computer, and the words TIME TO GET UP!" Well I guess there are words that we can sometimes not want to hear, but It's best to always embrace them and move on. I have been trying to be better at that specific situation. A good friend once told me "I always accept what my parents answers are, even if I don't like what they are because I know they are trying to do what's best for me!" I cannot tell you how that hit me. I have ALWAYS remembered that until this day. But I must say that sometimes I do not react so well when my parents give me an answer that I don't like. The Lord says in Proverbs 1:8 "Listen my son to you father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching." BAM! There you go! Could it be anymore clear??? I challenge you next time your parents give you an answer,even though you may not like the answer, think of this scripture in the Bible, and I will try to next time too!
